In 2011, A.L. Consulting was hired by Skanska USA Building to manage its Project Labor Agreement compliance on a $ 600 million Dormitory Authority of State of New York (DASNY) CUNY Advanced Science Research Center project.
One of the key challenges was educating non-Union M/WBEs with the pros/cons and requirement of becoming a Union Subcontractor. Another challenge was to ensure that firms that were going to bid on the CUNY project had the capacity and track record to complete the job.
